Happy veterans Day holiday! even though today is the holiday, yesterday was actually veterans Day, because the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month was the time when world war I ended in 1918 with the signing of the Armistice. Now, veterans Day is a special day to honor the sacrifices that our veterans have made for our country. I am wearing my most patriotic hat in honor of the occasion!
I thought up this poem as my way of saying thanks to veterans:
To Every Veteran
I’m free to enjoy my toys and treats, and though I’m just one tiny cat
I know I have you to thank for that
When you could have been home instead, thank you for keeping us safe and free
Today I honor everything you have done for me
I’m so grateful that because of you I can dance and twirl and play
and so I honor you on this solemn day
