Mews and Nips: Kitten with unusual Markings is Thriving with Foster mommy

When Melissa of tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue in Cornwall, Ontario was contacted about a tiny kitten found on a sidewalk, she immediately used to help. She was already fostering a pregnant stray, and after bottle feeding the orphaned kitten for two weeks, the nursing mommy accepted the kitten and took care of her as one of her own. The kitten’s unusual coloring is actually known as “fever coat.” Fever (or stress) coat occurs when the mother cat is ill with a high fever or anxiety during pregnancy. It doesn’t normally have any negative effects on the kitten’s overall health, and the coat will eventually change to show their true colors. If you missed any of the stories featured on the conscious cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we talked about the mental health benefits of laughter, on Monday, we told you why your cat’s vet records are so important, on Tuesday, we featured a beautiful customizable Rainbow Bridge ornament, on Wednesday, we shared information about the remember Me Thursday contest, on Thursday, we told you about Labor Day savings on 1TDC, and on Friday, we announced our all new and updated product Guide.

Today’s video features the cutest kitten pedicure (and the video is testament to the fact that it’s so crucial to get cats used to having their nails trimmed while they’re young.) Enjoy!

Have a great weekend!

That is a cute baby. My husband just said it has racing stripes on his forehead. Leave it to him to think of cars even when he looks at a cat. LOL!
